Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Ricky Hatton
December 8, 2007
Tonight I will be watchin the Mayweather/Hatton fight on PPV. I haven’t seen a boxing event since Tyson bit off Holyfields ear. But this fight, which is being called “Undefeated”, intrigues the hell out of me. It is already being considered one of the greatest fights of this century, or atleast have the potential to be. And it also marks another USA vs UK inside the square circle. So in the hours leading up to tonight’s fight, i wanted to give you a little something to look forward to. Enjoy the videos, and enjoy the fight…if you watch.
Mayweather, 30, is 38-0 (24 KOs) and the reigning world and Ring Magazine welterweight champion. He is a six-time world champion in five weight divisions including super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight. An accomplished fighter who capped off his amateur career with a Bronze Medal in the 1996 Olympic Games, Mayweather turned pro later that year and by his 18th fight was a world champion having stopped Genaro Hernandez in the eighth round to win the WBC super featherweight title October 3, 1998 at the age of only 21.
Hatton, is 43-0 (31 KOs) and hails from Manchester, England. A multi-division champion and universally recognized world junior welterweight champion, “The Hitman” has been packing arenas in England since his early days as a pro. A relentless force in the ring whose pressure and body punching has broken down championship caliber fighters for years, Hatton turned pro in 1997 and hasn’t looked back since.
I will be posting the 10 greatest boxing fights between USA and UK. So check back regularly.
