The Waitress With Backwards Feet

December 4, 2007

I did a post about a little girl who was born with eight limbs earlier this month, and this story is just as amazing. I wouldn’t wish these abnormalities on my worst enemy, but they are so damn intriguing.

I found this story on Dailymail.com

A waitress has refused to be classified as disabled even though she was born with feet that face backwards. Yes, her feet face behind her.

Wang Fang was born with her feet facing the wrong way, but has learned to live with her condition without problems and recently refused a disability pension. I wasn’t aware that China actually gave women a disability pension, let alone a pay check. I guess they are making progress.

She said: “I can run faster than most of my friends (I wonder if she has to backpedal?) and have a regular job as a waitress in the family restaurant. There is no reason to class me as disabled.”

Doctors and her family feared she would not be able to walk properly when she was born, but agreed that she can now outrun anyone she knows.

Wang, who has a five year-old son with normal feet, said: “I can walk as well as anyone else, and even run faster than them. I’m like everyone else - except of course that I put my shoes on backwards.”

I love the sense of humour and the I don’t give a fuck that my feet are backwards attitude. And this just goes to show you that it doesn’t matter which way the feet of an Asian face, they will always be a quick little shit. I bet it’s like trying to catch a chicken. I’d like to get some video of that shit.

Her feet aren’t backwards. If you look closely you can see that she actually walks on the tops of her feet. You can see the toenails and everything (yuck). Plus you can see her heel where the back of her ankle should be. I imagine this is some kind of variation on that weird foot-wrapping tradition some asian people do to their own feet.

Got something to say?
